Who are we?

Arranges counseling for victims, provides referral to other programs, employer/creditor intercession. Will provide transportation and accompany victims to legal and medical appointments related to the crime, information on the status of the case and police procedures. Assists with paperwork and victim compensation relating to the crime. Assists with emergency shelters and emergency financial assistance, food, and clothing. The Chief’s Staff unit also oversees the Community Relations Office which offers lecturers for civic and children’s groups, tours of the Law Enforcement Center, and assistance in developing and maintaining Community Watch Programs. The Chief’s staff unit also operates substations in Santa Fe and Grove View Terrace communities. Other programs include Adopt-A-Cop, Vacation Residence Check, and PAL Judo,and firearm safety classes to the public. Accepts donations of Teddy Bears for children who have dealings with the Police Dept. Oversees the Are You OK? calling program for senior citizens, disabled, and the homebound.
